December 2007

We at National Youth Ministries thank God for you and your commitment to youth! Thank you for loving and leading students. This monthly e-publication is about you, the youth leader. Every issue aims to encourage excellence and spark ideas in you as you endeavor to “make disciplined-learners (disciples)” of youth for Jesus Christ. We want to help you win, build and send them to fulfill the Great Commission. You are our heroes in this charge. We believe in you! Pray daily. Live like Jesus. Tell the Truth. Serve others. Give generously. You’ve got Momentum!

- Jay Mooney, national youth director

On behalf of National Youth Ministries, we want to say a great big THANKS for this past year of youth ministry. We so appreciate the many sacrifices you have made to see students become life-long disciples for Jesus! In no way do we take your commitment for granted.

Our prayer is that you, your family, and your church will experience Christ in a very tangible way this Christmas season. We pray that His love will be poured out upon you and that you will find rest in Him.

Together, in 2007, we accomplished a great deal for which we should give thanks.

  • To date we have 12,600 Campus Missionaries since we cleansed our databases in July 2007! At no other time have we had as many students commit themselves to win their campus for Christ.
  • Approximately 26,000 Fire Bible Student Editions are now in the hands of students and individuals! See www.youth.ag.org/fbse for more about this great tool.
  • Nearly 13,000 students and leaders registered and attended INDY 07! The largest gathering for youth ministry in its history. Don’t miss Charlotte 08. Go to www.Charlotte08.ag.org for more info.
  • We continue to hear amazing stories from students who have given sacrificially toward Speed the Light missions! In a world where students are labeled as selfish, there truly are those who want to live life in heroic proportions. See www.stl.ag.org for resources and stories.
  • Several leadership resources were developed this year to equip the church to win, build and send students to fulfill the Great Commission! Check out www.youth.ag.org/digisource for a list.
  • Through The Seven Project 11,712 students have given their hearts to Christ! We continue to hear great reports of what is happening on campuses across the country.
  • Over 40,000, “21 Days After Camp” discipleship tools were distributed following camps this past summer! This tool allowed for intentional discipleship to take place following camp.

The above is simply a highlight of God’s creative power and presence. We, like you, look forward to a greater year of youth ministry in 2008! In the meantime get plenty of rest, loads of time with your family, and several moments of solitude with our Savior.

May the Lord richly bless you this season!

Jay, Rick, Rod and Steve
